NASA # S72-50438 These three astronauts are the prime crewmen of the Apollo 17 lunar landing mission. Cernan (seated), commander; Ronald E. Evans (standing on right), command module pilot; and Harrison H.

They are photographed with a Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) trainer. Cernan and Schmitt will use an LRV during their exploration of the Taurus-Littrow landing site. The Apollo 17 Saturn V space vehicle is in the background. This picture was taken at Pad A, Launch Complex 39, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida, The Apollo 17 emblem is in the photo insert at upper left.

A WORD ABOUT MY RESEARCH ON DIFFERENT NASA VINTAGE PHOTOS. There are many different markings you can find on NASA vintage photos such as, red or black numbers. NASA description on back, or no description.

The key factor of a true first generation NASA vintage is the paper. Not just the Kodak paper but the heavy fiber paper is the key. Most think a red number is an earlier photo and therefore more valuable. My research tells me they are all equal. The only difference is the person developing the photo and the color of ink used, again all must be on heavy fiber paper to be the earliest.
