This recent find comes from Estate of Retired BOEING & NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Aerospace Engineer that worked on the early Saturn/Apollo to Shuttle Missions - NOTE: After retirement previous owner was a Archives/Curator at "THE SPACE and ROCKET CENTER" SPACE CAMP-Huntsville, AL. Where he also was able to Obtain a large Collection of Purged Archived items if after notified original donors did not re-claim them.
Listing is for a LOT of TWO Original 1969 NASA MSFC 1ST GENERATION PHOTO "EARTH FROM APOLLO 11" on "THIS PAPER MANUFATURED BY KODAK" and APOLLO 11 SPACE AND ROCKET CENTER DISPLAY SIGN ("ENROUTE TO THE MOON" with detail description). Photo has MSFC-69 MS-G-2281 and 11 (just above) on front and is approximately 8"Hx10-1/4"L. Sign is 4.5"H x 10"L and in Very Good condition (white with black writing) with minimal age/use wear. Photo is in Very Good overall condition for age/use with some wear (spot on front bottom corner - see picture 10). Back side of photo has evidence of being used as a display piece with tape residue and markings.
These pieces were likely used inside one of the display cases in the Space and Rocket Center. Note: Sign is 100% from early 1970's (ALABAMA SPACE & ROCKET CENTER) display and was under the large lighted background piece that showed the Trip to the Moon and its Lunar Orbit. The photo would have been part of a total of 8-10 photos displayed to the right of lighted piece. Living in Huntsville about 3-5 miles from MSFC and having my Father work and retire from NASA after 42 years as a Aerospace Engineer we as a family got to visit Museum for free and remember display..
